Enclosure and Sunshade Options
Generally all electronic devices are temperature limited. Electronic chip manufacturers usually limit components to (-20ºC - +48ºC) unless otherwise specified or the device is designated “military grade”.
Electronic instrumentation, field mounted in IP65 or Neema 4 rated enclosures prevent heat loss by means of air convection and enclosures manufactured from modern plastics and fibreglass also prevent heat loss means of conduction. It is therefore important to restrict any heat input from the sun . Web-Tech have designed a sunshade that accommodates their entire range of electronic indicators. The sunshade does not provide any protection from water or dust for the indicator which is mounted in an IP65 / Neema 4 enclosure. It does, however effectively shade the indicator and enclosure from radiant heat. Air is allowed circulate around and through the sunshade. Conduit entry to the instrument enclosure is made easy owing to the generous opening at the base of the sunshade. The design allows for retrofitting of the sunshade without the need to disconnect the indicator wiring / conduits.
